Cárdenas es una ciudad histórica conocida como la Ciudad de las Primicias. Exhibe aportes significativos a la Medicina y atesora primicias médicas que reflejan su papel en la Medicina cubana. Las Tecnologías de Información y Comunicaciones marcan la distinción de este momento histórico en relación con el conocimiento del pasado. Se estableció como objetivo elaborar un software educativo para contribuir a elevar el nivel de conocimientos de los estudiantes de Medicina del municipio acerca de la historia de la Medicina en la localidad. “HisMedCar”, se desarrolló en el Policlínico Universitario José Antonio Echeverría entre septiembre de 2009 y enero de 2010. Se comprobó primero que no existía un producto similar a este. Para la confección del software se utilizó: editor de páginas Webs Macromedia Dreamweaver versión 8, Adobe PhotoShop versión 9 y Xara WebStyle versión 3. El producto consta de texto básico, galerías de imágenes y libros digitales. El universo estuvo constituido por 105 estudiantes de Medicina, Estomatología y Psicología y se utilizó una muestra de 53 que consintieron en participar en el estudio. Se aplicó una encuesta inicial sobre el tema la cual arrojó un 20% del total de estudiantes evaluados de Regular y un 70% evaluados de Mal. Se demostró, después de la aplicación del software, una mejoría significativa del nivel de conocimientos al predominar estudiantes evaluados de Bien representando el 90 % del total mientras que ninguno fue evaluado de Mal. Software educativo. Cárdenas is a well-known historical city as the "Ciudad de las Primicias". It exhibits significant contributions to the Medicine and it stores medical first sights that reflect their paper in the Cuban Medicine. The Technologies of Information and Communications mark the distinction of this historical moment in connection with the knowledge of the past. We settled as objective to elaborate an educational software to contribute to elevate the level of the students of Medicine of the municipality knowledge about the history of the Medicine in the town. "HisMedCar", it was developed in the University Polyclinic José Antonio Echeverría between September of 2009 and January of 2010. Was proven first that a similar product didn't exist to this. For the making of the software it was used: editor of pages Webs Macromedia Dreamweaver version 8, PhotoShop version Marinate 9 and Xara WebStyle version 3. The product consists of basic text, galleries of images and digital books. The universe was constituted by 105 students of Medicine, Stomatology and Psychology and a sample of 53 was used that consented in participating in the study. An initial survey was applied on the topic which threw 20% of the total of evaluated students of Regulating and 70% evaluated of Bad. It was demonstrated, after the application of the software, a significant improvement of the level of knowledge when prevailing evaluated students of Well representing 90% of the total while none was evaluated of Bad. 100% of those interviewed possesses a high level of satisfaction with the use of the product.
