E-mail: ernesto@miyares-cao.cu Resumen El Comercio Electrónico es uno de los ejemplos más visibles de la forma en la cual las Tecnologías de la Información y las Comunicaciones, pueden contribuir al crecimiento económico de un país. El Centro de Histoterapia Placentaria, institución que brinda servicios médicos a pacientes cubanos y extranjeros, posee un marcado interés por utilizar esta metodología para la adquisición de medicamentos de los pacientes atendidos en el mismo. El objetivo de este trabajo es la programación a través de software libre de una Farmacia Virtual para plataforma Web, que permita establecer dicho mecanismo, y cuya implementación garantice en gran medida, la continuidad de los tratamientos establecidos, muchas veces interrumpidos, por la imposibilidad de los pacientes extranjeros de viajar a Cuba para adquirir los mismos. La puesta en práctica de esta farmacia es una novedad en el sector de la Salud, pues el desarrollo del Comercio Electrónico en esta esfera de la sociedad es aún incipiente. Abstract The Electronic Trade is one of the most visible examples in which the Information and Communication Technologies can contribute to the economic growth of a country. The Placental Hystotherapy Center is an institution that offers medical services to Cuban and foreign patients as well, it has a remarkable interest to use this methodology to give those patients who have been assisted in the center, the opportunity to acquire the medication. The objective of this work is the free software programming of a Virtual Pharmacy for Web platform that allows establishing this mechanism. Its implementation can increase the continuity of treatments, sometimes interrupted because of the impossibility for foreign patients of travelling to Cuba to get the medication. The setting of this pharmacy is a novelty within the Sector of Public Health, because the development of the Electronic Trade in this sphere of the society is still incipient.
